A very wide and very substantial table lamp of thick-walled mouthblown glass, in a roughly mushroom shape, decorated a scavo a technique of applying salts and ash to the glass during firing to replicate the iridescence and calcium deposits found on ancient excavated glass. It is capped with a wide turned and polished hardwood disc. It was made in the late 1970s by Murano glassworks, Seguso Vetri dArte, and was probably designed by Vittorio Rigattieri, SvdAs head designer at this time.
