At Home With POWERlink
IE's own in-house developed POWERlink cable and software gives you the freedom to quickly flash your cars engine control unit (ECU) or transmission control unit (TCU) with your new IE performance tune. The cable simply plugs into your vehicles OBD-2 port, from there simply follow the on-screen directions to quickly upload the tune. Adding horsepower is as easy as clicking FLASH NOW!
The flash tool also grants instant access to upgrade tune stages, switch fuel octanes, flash back to stock, perform engine diagnostics, read/clear codes and gather high-quality operating data via logging.
System requirements:
Laptop or tablet with Wifi connection and USB port running Windows 7 or above operating system required. Powered by 32 or 64 bit processor with 1.0GHz or greater and 4GB of Ram.
Please note that if you are planning on flashing your car at home, we highly recommend having a proper battery charger on hand. If your vehicle loses power while flashing it, you run the risk of damaging your ECU.
Exhaust Crackle
Give your supercharged engine an aggressive sporty sound. This new feature makes your S car sound like a true performance machine when you rev, decelerate, or let off the throttle for gear changes. This exhaust crackle is completely safe and entirely addicting. Optional feature included with stage 2 and dual pulley tunes.
True Launch Control
IE's True Launch Control feature adds the motorsport function of two-step launch control built into the ECU software. This offers neck-breaking launches with engine load and boost built from a stop. This provides a large advantage over similarly powered vehicles. Optional feature included with dual pulley tune (2013+ B8.5 only)
Throttle Body
This is for all the marbles, designed to completely unleash the complete performance potential from your supercharger by removing the factory throttle body limitation. This tune feature is for dual pulley setups that are also running our IE Throttle Body Upgrade Kit for the fastest S4 in town! Optional feature included with dual pulley tune and requires IE Throttle Body Upgrade (IEINCG3A).
E40 Blend Fuel
The IE Stage 2 Dual Pulley Tune offers you tons of power potential on multiple octane options including support for E40. The direct injection factory fuel system cannot safely support the amount of fuel needed for full E85 fuel, even with an HPFP upgrade, however, it can support a maximum blend of ethanol to E40. This E40 blend is an ethanol mix of E85 with regular pump 91/93 fuel (about 2/5ths E85 and 3/5ths 91/93 with E10 premium gas). To run this fuel safely, it must be pre-mixed and verified before filling into an empty tank. You can read IE's blog article on how to safely blend ethanol HERE. Tuning available for engines with press-fit supercharger pulleys only. Some late model 2016+ engines may be equipped with a 4 bolt supercharger pulley, this is not currently supported and is coming soon.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
CATALYTIC CONVERTERS
IE's pump fuel 91/93 tunes are specially calibrated with safe air to fuel mixtures that inhibit "knocking". These mixtures also provide cooler exhaust gas temperature and thus are safer for the 3.0T's fragile catalytic converters than many competition tunes. Higher octanes are intended for higher power output and do not guarantee factory catalytic converter safety.
INCREASED RPM
IE 3.0T Tunes continue to make power beyond the factory rev limiter, to take advantage of the larger power band, the rev limits have been raised. Stage 1 tunes include a new RPM range of 7200RPM while Stage 2 and Dual Pulley is raised to 7350RPM. On S-Tronic (DSG) equipped cars, our DSG Tune is required to unlock these higher RPM ranges. DSG Calibration will shift slightly before these rev limiters.
Once a tune purchase is applied to your vehicle's ECU, the tune is permanently registered to the vehicle and non-transferable to other vehicles. Tune can be transferred to a second party in the event of vehicle transfer of ownership only.
Try IE software for 45 days from shipment date, if for any reason you are unsatisfied the tune may be removed and refunded risk-free.
