Description:
Debut album by the Ben Younes String Quartet, an ensemble formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in 2007! Studied at the Geneva Conservatory of Music in Switzerland with Gabor Takcs-Nagy, a founding member of the Takcs Quartet, the Ben-Younes Quartet has won prizes at the Orlando International String Quartet Competition and the Schandor Weg String Quartet Competition, and is a remarkable ensemble with great promise for the future. The program on their debut album includes masterpieces by Beethoven and Debussy, coupled with Bartk's Quartet No. 2, which is connected to the venue of the Weg Competition, where they won a prize.
