The Flag of Pernambuco is one of the official symbols of the state of Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil. Adopted on November 15, 1946, it consists of seven horizontal stripes arranged in the following pattern: three green (representing the state's verdant countryside), two blue (symbolizing the sea and the sky), and two white (signifying peace and harmony). In the center is a yellow diamond containing the state seal. The flag was designed by Brazilian artist Alusio de Freitas. The Flag of Pernambuco reflects the state's history, culture, and natural resources.
