Ferran Savard: A collection of precious moments of improvisation Ferran Savard, son of Savard, is also noted for his collaboration with his father Jordi. Born in 1979, he is a talented guitarist and singer, and is releasing his second album on the ALIA VOX label. This time, the recordings capture rare moments from the improvisation (IMPROVISATION) sessions he has been doing from 2003 to 2011. Through his own singing and guitar playing, and accompanied by his father Jordi Savall and percussionist Pedro Estevan, he continues to explore the traditions of his native Catalonia while enriching his own musical experience. The highlight of the album is "Comiat d' una Mare," a tribute to his mother, Monserrat Figueras, who died on November 23, 2011.The album closes with his own simple yet profound arrangement of "Over the Rainbow," a song familiar from The Wizard of Oz.
